AMA Waterways

I recently had the opportunity to cruise the Blue Danube Discovery itinerary with AMA Waterways.  We cruised from Budapest to Bratislava, Vienna, Passau, and Regensburg.  Along the way we were able to visit magnificent cathedrals and baroque abbeys.  We explored the Wachau Valley and traverse Europe’s Continental divide, which was made possible through the engineering marvel of the main-Danube.  We must have gone through more than 50 locks on this itinerary which in itself was quite fascinating.

Guided Bike Tours  AMA Waterways offers complimentary guided  bicycle tours.  This was a highlight for me. My husband and I biked along the Danube between historic Durnstein and Melk, Austria.  Special headsets allowed us to hear the guide’s commentary as we biked along, immersed in Europe’s greatest scenery.
