I was lucky enough to spend last weekend at the incredible Amangiri resort (part of the Aman Resort family) located in the southwest region of the USA also known as the Four Corners, where the states of Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona meet.  The scenery here is beyond dramatic.  It is amazing how different the desert landscape is from so many other destinations – this is not your standard beach or mountain resort.

My mom and I drove down from Salt Lake City, and after a six hour roadtrip to the middle of nowhere (Amangiri is located on 600 acres of wilderness near the border of Arizona), we were royally welcomed to the resort.  I loved how the resort was designed to blend into the landscape, rather than marring the dramatic view.

Our room was incredible, with my absolute favorite feature being the concertina doors to the patio that you can open all the way up, so that one entire wall of your room is open air, looking out onto your private desert landscape.

We filled our weekend with visits to the spa, pool, restaurant and surrounding hikes and were never disappointed in our choices.  I took many more pictures – click here to view the rest.  Also, I must mention the service – every single Amangiri employee that we spoke to was amazingly nice, genuine and helpful; many going out of their way to ensure we had a great time.

If you would like to visit Amangiri and experience it for yourself, contact Andavo Travel.  As part of our Virtuoso membership, we can offer our clients the following complimentary amenities at Amangiri:  an upgrade upon arrival (subject to availability), daily continental breakfast for two guests, and one luncheon for two (once during your stay).
