Four Seasons Scottsdale at Troon North

I recently had the opportunity to enjoy a weekend stay at the Four Seasons Scottsdale at Troon North.  You may be wondering if I am completely insane, organizing a weekend in Arizona during August, not exactly their coolest month.  I must admit, I was a little worried myself before we arrived.  However, the weather didn’t end up being an issue at all.

My husband tried out both golf courses, and made sure to start extra early in the morning to avoid the heat.  He liked the Pinnacle course better than the Monument course – although that could be because he played better on the Pinnacle course than the Monument course…

I personally enjoyed the pool cabanas, which allowed for ample shade, a water mister to cool me off and a frequently-refilled pitcher of ice water.  Between my cozy cabana and some dips in the pool (I liked that they had an adults-only pool section) I was able to keep quite cool and comfortable and had a very relaxing weekend.

I loved all the Four Seasons touches – the complimentary little poolside snacks throughout the day were a big hit with me.  Frozen grapes here, a mini smoothie there, a little shot glass of blueberry lemonade…  I never knew what they were going to offer me next.  And I must admit I also tried out a homemade ice cream sandwich from their ice cream cart, which meanders poolside every afternoon.

While I found the room service breakfasts to be only okay (the menu descriptions sounded amazing, but then the real thing didn’t quite measure up), we enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the resort’s Talavera restaurant one night.  I would highly recommend Chef Mel Mecinas’s menu.

Included below are a few shots of our “casita” (aka our hotel room) at the Four Seasons.
