I was fortunate enough to travel to Bali for my honeymoon this year.  What a beautiful island!  We went golfing, white water rafting, shopping, took an elephant ride, and spent lots of time relaxing.  We even saw monkeys in the trees while on our rafting trip!

We stayed at Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay and Four Seasons Sayan.  Even though they are both Four Seasons properties, they couldn’t be more different, and offer completely different experiences.    The staff at both properties was incredibly accommodating, as you’d expect from any Four Seasons.  It’s feels pretty special to be greeted by name every time you enter the hotel lobby or any of their restaurants.  They are definitely there to take care of you.

Jimbaran Bay offers Balinese style villas with views of the ocean, private plunge pools, and grounds that are a pleasure to walk through.  And there is always a cart available for you if you are not in the mood for a walk.  It is a very spacious property!  It’s a workout to get from the villa to the pool, beach, or lobby.  We loved it.  The beach is quiet and clean.  And don’t forget to reserve a bed on the beach for dinner!

While at Sayan we were indulged with a Riverfront villa.  This private villa was quiet and picturesque.  You walk up to the villa on the rooftop outfitted with a lotus pool surrounding a seating area.  Walk down the staircase to come to the front door, which once opened reveals the most breathtaking view of the river, just past the private sundeck with plunge pool.  The villa was secluded enough that we could not see the villas on either side of us.  However, there were a couple tours of white water rafters that came through.

You cannot go wrong traveling to Bali.  There is something for everyone.  And I would recommend either property, but I would highly suggest you work both into your trip.  Bali has so much to offer, it is impossible to see it all while staying at just one resort.   The recipe for the perfect honeymoon!
