Iceland Air is scheduled to begin service from Denver to Reykjavik on May 11, 2012. With this non-stop service comes a new generation of cabin structure and service.

Economy class will offer no meal service on a complimentary basis. Customers who travel in this cabin will want to purchase meals on board or bring something with you to sustain you during the flight. Of course, the airport menus offer many choices to indulge your taste buds.

Economy comfort offers a meal choice for your dining pleasure, as well as seats in the front of the economy cabin. While their seating is 3×3, the center seat is left open for your “comfort”, giving you additional space to enjoy during your time in the air.

Saga Class is a play on business class, but it is not quite as luxurious as traditional business class over the water. This cabin has 2×2 seating in wider seats with adequate leg room, a foot rest and enough recline to rest a bit or sleep through one of the numerous movie selections. Headsets are given in lovely hard cases, which you must return before landing. The meal options, while meant to be more upscale than economy comfort, were very different from traditional offerings. However, they are very typical of the cuisine you will find upon landing in beautiful Iceland. You may find that you really like the options or have difficulty selecting something to your taste. There are no linens on your table, but your tray (bearing your entire meal) is lined with a lovely cloth napkin. Beverages of all types are included in this class of service, also.

If you are just looking for a little more space, economy comfort may be the perfect answer for you. If you like a little more leg room, then Saga class is an affordable option. The flight from Denver will be just 7 hours and you will arrive more rested with more space.

Video on demand, a large selection of movies, music, TV shows, games and friendly service complement each cabin and before long, you will arrive in the capital of Iceland: Reykjavik. It is a great destination, a stopover for a few days or a reasonably priced gateway to the European continent.  I hope you enjoy the hospitality and pricing of Iceland Air.
