During my recent trip to London with a few other Andavo travel advisors, I was able to stay at the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel at Park Lane. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by the friendly and attentive staff into their cozy lobby. The fireplace was roaring and kept London’s spring chill at bay.
Before we explored the hotel, we had the chance to visit the Wallace Collection, a national museum in a historic London town house, only about 1.5 miles away from the Four Seasons. I could not have been more impressed with our guide, Rose, from Art History UK. She was informative yet entertaining and kept me wanting to learn more about each painting and treasure held within the museum. After some delightful tea, we were brought back to the hotel to freshen up before dinner.
There are plenty of room types for every traveler at the Four Seasons Park Lane, and I was staying in the Executive Suite with a Terrace. Trying hard to pass up the treats left for me on my bedside, I wandered out to the terrace to explore my oasis in the heart of the city. This was a fabulous place to enjoy coffee, tea or better yet, champagne.
I finally made my way up into the pre-arrival lounge before dinner and there enjoyed outstanding views of the city. This area is reserved for travelers coming in a little earlier than expected and offers beverages as well as newspapers to pass the time in a very relaxed setting. Across the hall from the pre-arrival lounge is the oh-so-tempting spa and the not-so-tempting (but very well-equipped) gym.
We finally made our way down to the hotel’s restaurant, Amaranto, and were tucked away into a semi-private dinner area. Red hues and low lighting make the lounge, bar and restaurant very warm and inviting for all ages. The food was phenomenal and service even better. The next morning we toured almost all the property’s room types dressed in rich woods, marble-adorned bathrooms, and lush bed linens. As we bid farewell I realized this would be a perfect place for a discreet client wanting prime real estate and over-the-top service and accommodations.
