Luxury Hotel Review: The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami

July 19, 2018 | By

The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne was a quick getaway with easy access from most major gateways on the east coast. After touching down in Miami, you’ll have just a short 20 minute drive from the airport and your vacation begins!

The staff really takes the time to make sure travelers of all ages are making memories. The “Very Important Kid” wristband given to my children posed danger as it guarantees free ice cream at anytime during your stay – wow!

The most memorable room amenity was the cookie-decorating display. After our second pool day, we walked in to see a full set-up of all the trimmings to ice and decorate our own cookies. A platter of plain sugar cookies, four icing colors ready to be spread, and a selection of sprinkles, gummies, and chocolate to top off the designs. I was just as excited as my kids to get my hands sticky!

Other high-points for my kids included a zero entry pool, plus daily pool activities allowing kids to take a break from swimming and join the kids club to paint a birdhouse or make a wind-chime. Not to mention the property has a variety of wildlife roaming the premises. Iguanas walk the pool deck daily!

The property completed a multi-phase renovation in 2016 which brought improvements to its 450 guest rooms, the new Lightkeepers restaurant (try the sliders at happy hour!) and redesigned lobby. The room improvements are stunning! Included photos are of our one bedroom executive suite, that includes 1 bedroom, 1.5 bath, with balcony and partial ocean view, separate living room with pullout sofa. 800 sq ft.
