Nanuku Resort ~ Fiji

When looking for an adult or family luxury, look at Fiji and the glorious resort of Nanuku, an Auberge property.
Upon arrival, we were met with drums, a cold towel (very much welcome after our drive from Nadi), a refreshing beverage, as well as a Fijian lei. Though there is a variety of accommodation types at this beautiful and spacious property, I highly recommend the bungalow with your private, oversized plunge pool.
The air and the water are warm, so a dip in this pool is relaxing and just the right temperature, especially after a day of snorkeling, kayaking, bike riding, hiking, or just relaxing. The suite offers plenty of space to enjoy, also, with a door separating the bedroom from the sitting area. The bathroom is king-sized, the lighting is bright, and all of our needs are considered. There is a very spacious patio, partially covered, a pool, and then a large day bed with plenty of shade to enjoy the day with a good book or a good drink-or both-or even a quick nap in between activities.
Breakfast, which is included, featured a large basket of bread and pastries, as well as a fruit platter containing lots of luscious tropical options, begins your day. Or you can order the cooked breakfast of your choice from their varied and delicious menu options. With a full stomach, you wonder if you will even need lunch.
The resort offers a personal nanny for each child under the age of 8 and has a comprehensive and interesting educational kids program. The parents can take time to enjoy the spa, relax by the pool, or choose from several other options. One thing not to miss is the ½-day boat trip to the private island of Nanuku. The snorkeling in the area is some of the best you will find in all of Fiji, and the water temperature is perfect. The island itself is uninhabited and raw, giving you the feeling of really being on a deserted island. From here, you have a delicious lunch and take in the views of the fantastic, crystal clear, cerulean water and remind yourself to breathe in the fresh air of the South Pacific.
Back on land, you have several menu options for lunch or dinner at the restaurant, and there is always a tasty little surprise from the chef. The bar/lounge area has a large screen TV so that you won’t miss any of the worldwide sporting events, and there is live music while you are dining, as well. We even experienced a cultural production from the local village residents and an authentic kava ceremony.
Nanuku should be on your list, particularly if you love great food, service, accommodations, friendly people – and maybe want a little break from the children to rekindle some romance, too.
