Travel Tips: Camera phone use

The obvious ways to use your smartphone’s camera while traveling include staying connected via email and social media, and taking all those fun and memorable vacation photos.

But did you realize that your camera can help save your trip?

Mobile devices can now contain all or most of your itinerary information. If some of your trip requires printed vouchers or flight info that can’t be sent to your device, take photos of these things so that you have them with you at all times.

Also, take a clear and up-close photo of your passport so that you have a copy with you in the unfortunate case you ever need it.

Another photo op that I tell my clients to take advantage of, is to take a photo of the rental car when you pick it up and when you drop it off. This is helpful if the rental company finds a scratch or ding later. And, take multiple photos of any accidents that you might get into, which can come in handy to resolve any issues.
