Have you ever been to the Tony award winning Utah Shakespeare festival in Cedar City? Everyone I talk to says it’s on their list to do…but somehow they haven’t experienced it yet. The festival is celebrating 50 years by performing six plays this summer season.
The performances in the Adams Theater are outside under the stars. I saw them all and thoroughly enjoyed everyone of them. The Music Man and A Midsummer Night’s Dream were my favorites and great productions for the whole family.
There are a lot of activities to keep you busy with backstage tours, literary seminars and a green show before the evening plays. Lodging options are plentiful; whether it’s a convenient motel, a bed-and-breakfast, or a mountain resort. Cedar City is a 4 hour drive from Salt Lake City.
Why not take a quick trip to Cedar? There are still 4 weeks of theater left to enlighten your summer family vacation.
