Wellness Travel in Austin, Texas: Lake Austin Spa Resort

I recently had the distinct pleasure of visiting Austin, Texas for a wellness travel experience at two very different health-conscious properties that were both equally amazing.

My wellness travel adventure began at Lake Austin Spa Resort. Hands down this has become one of my very favorite wellness resorts for those seeking a spa destination and/or fitness retreat. I utterly fell in love with this all inclusive boutique property with 40 comfy rooms and want to shout from the roofs what a gem it is.

The peaceful lakefront resort was recently named the Number 1 resort in Texas & the Southwest by Condé Nast Traveler and is ranked the No. 4 destination spa in the world by Travel + Leisure. Well deserved accolades! Definitely catering to your mind, body and spirit. I can attest to how wonderful I felt after just a few nights at this Virtuoso property where unpretentious luxury coupled with impeccable and gracious service are the norm.

Right outside the dining room is this lovely pool area perfect for relaxing or el fresco dining.

This is where I enjoyed a delicious and healthy breakfast while I lounged in my spa robe. Yep, folks are wearing robes throughout the property, so casual comfort is in!

After my breakfast, I was delighted by the myriad of fitness and educational options with over 15 classes to choose from. I did take a much needed yoga class from a lovely instructor who personalized her yoga offerings to fit our class. Much appreciated. After yoga, I tootled around the lake for a bit on a hydra bike.

Then I moseyed around the property a bit and look what I found…

Decisions, decisions… I first opted for a dip in the pool barn for a wonderful and taxing water aerobics class where I again was reminded that water aerobics is indeed a workout.

Then I went to explore the Lake House Spa. OH MY GOODNESS! I could just set up camp and live here. It was so comfortable yet luxurious and offered some 100-plus treatments nestled within its 25,000 square-feet.  I mean, really, look at these photos, do they not look like someone’s gorgeous home? I adored relaxing in the room below which is the spa waiting area. Having experienced more than my fair share of spa treatments, I can attest that I was sooooo pampered and spoiled by my experience here.

Following my treatment, I meandered over to the café where I fell in love with the décor and (food).

This was a wellness property that I was so sad to leave and that I highly recommend. I think Lake Austin Spa Resort is perfect for solo travelers, romantic getaways, gal pal weekends, multi-generational gatherings and much more….

Note: guests must be at least 14.

Finally, since Lake Austin Spa Resort is a Virtuoso property, and I am a Virtuoso affiliate via Andavo Travel, all of my clients who book a stay at the Lake Austin Spa Resort in 2016 will receive the following complimentary amenities:

– Upgrade on arrival, subject to availability
– Daily full breakfast, for up to two in room guests
– $100 Spa Services credit
– Early check-in/late check-out, subject to availability
